Psychology for children and adolescents – Wieden
Child Clinical Psychological Diagnostics
The purpose of child psychological diagnostics is to identify problems in children, adolescents and their families, recognise and diagnose psychological stress, develop solutions and plan the next steps (treatment).
The diagnostic process comprises between two or three test appointments, during which information is obtained through discussions, joint play and the use of scientifically recognised psychological test procedures. This is followed by a counselling session at which the test results and the resulting treatment plan can be discussed with the child/adolescent and their parent(s).
The most frequently asked questions about problems in childhood
- Behavioural problems in kindergarten (aggression, social withdrawal, concentration, ….)
- School or professional problems (behaviour and performance) – Attention Deficit Disorder / Hyperactivity (ADD / ADHD), partial performance disorders, anxiety, depressive mood,…
- Family problems (divorce, traumatic experiences, oppositional behaviour,…)
- Delayed development (language, motor skills, socio-emotional,…)
